RedHat has officially started shipping the new version 6.1 of its flagshipenterprise-level distribution - Red Hat Enterprise Linux. After justsix months after the first in this series, the new 6.0 Linux-industrialplatform offers customers a new kernel 2.6.32 314 updated and 49 newpackages in the package.
On May 19th, Red Hatreleased the first service pack since the release of Red Hat EnterpriseLinux 6. As with every service pack, Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.1consolidates all patches and security updates since the introduction ofRed Hat Enterprise Linux 6, while maintaining application compatibility,ISV and IHV support.
